(Minnetonka, MN) — September 19th, 2023 — After a Minnetonka child’s routine check-up ended with a devastating diagnosis, she’s now getting a life-saving gift after receiving a call about a new kidney on the week of her birthday!
Parker Lintelman was diagnosed with Stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease in 2021. Over the last couple of years, Parker’s health declined dramatically until her medical team decided she needed to be put on a transplant list in May.
The community has rallied behind the family. Last year, Parker’s preschool teacher, Kim Miller, even donated a kidney through the National Kidney Registry (NKR) Voucher Program in Parker’s name to prioritize Parker for living donor kidney.
On the week of Parker’s 6th birthday (Sept. 14th) , the family received the call they’ve been waiting for since May.
“Parker and her family received a call from their Transplant Coordinator, informing them that they have found the best possible living kidney donor match for Parker. The donor is a 40-year-old individual living in San Diego and is a perfect match for Parker,” the fundraiser reads.
A GoFundMe was set up to help the family with medical costs related to the transplant, as well as Parker’s future care. That link is here: Kidney Transplant for Parker Lintelman
