3M’s New Ulm Plant Marks 60 Years of Operation
(New Ulm, MN) — Aug 31, 2022 — 3M’s New Ulm plant opened in 1962 when the company purchased a vacant 33,000 square foot building sitting on 60 acres of property in the southern Minnesota town. The first production line on site made electrical connectors, connectors for telephone lines, and electrical splicing kits. Over the years, 3M has constructed several additions in New Ulm to add new manufacturing capabilities
