(Pequot Lakes, MN) — August 2nd, 2024 — For the third straight year, Star Lake Camp in the Pequot Lakes area hosted STAR LAKE OUT LOUD!, a unique five-day immersive camp designed to foster confidence, communication and connection for youth who stutter across Minnesota and the upper Midwest. This year, eight campers experienced a rustic setting while participating in hiking, swimming, archery, crafts, canoeing, kayaking, cooking over a fire and lessons related to their unique communication style.
For many campers, this was their first opportunity to interact with another child who stutters and reflect on their speaking with speech-language pathologists with a special interest in stuttering; some of whom stutter themselves.
