Minneapolis Named the 11th Most Generous City in the US

(Minneapolis, MN) — This year, Minneapolis was named the 11th most generous city in the US by GoFundMe.Aside from Medical, Memorial, and Emergency causes, the most frequently supported categories in Minneapolis were Family, Community, and Animals.

The community came together to support the family of Kristina Folkerts, who was killed during a tragic accident at the Park Tavern in St. Louis Park. Kristina was a loving mother of 3 young girls and friend to many in the community.

19 Bar, one of the most historic LGBTQ bars in the state, saw an outpouring of community support after a fire forced the business to close.

Josh and Tammy Stahl tragically lost their lives in a car accident on November 1st, leaving behind their two sons, Blake and Gavin. The couple was well-known for their dedication to family and their advocacy within the Type 1 Diabetes community. Their families have set up a fund to support the boys through this challenging time, helping cover living expenses, funeral costs, and future educational needs.

Kuva Uptown Salon, a Minneapolis salon that opened months prior to the pandemic, is still in business thanks to the community’s support! The business started a GoFundMe after struggling from challenges and obstacles rooted in the pandemic.Owners Will, Tami, and Stephan, who previously operated Wave Salon, opened Kuva Uptown Salon with a vision to rebrand and build a fresh business.
