(Fridley, MN) — November 14th, 2024 — Hurricane Helene has long ended, but the needs of those impacted by the disaster are ongoing. Through the project Destination Asheville, Forgotten Star Brewing is working to fill a semi-truck located outside the brewery’s taproom with supplies for the Asheville community. The truck will depart for Highland Brewing in Asheville on Dec. 2.
Destination Asheville: how beer can bring people together to help those in need
“Since we opened Forgotten Star Brewing, giving back to the community has been an important focus for our team. We are better when we work together, and we are grateful for the support from local businesses, community members and other breweries on Destination Asheville. We are excited to work in collaboration with Highland Brewing and show the Asheville community what Minnesota nice is all about” said Forgotten Star President, Andy Risvold.
“The generosity of Americans during times of crisis is awe inspiring. The craft brewing community is no exception and this is an amazing opportunity to highlight the power of the brewing community. We’re excited to be working with Forgotten Star Brewing and other Minnesota breweries to help our Asheville community as it continues to rebuild after Hurricane Helene,” said Brock Ashburn, Vice President of Highland Brewing Company.
Donations are being accepted through Nov. 30 in the Forgotten Star Brewing taproom at 38 Northern Stacks Drive in Fridley, Minnesota. If people are looking for a closer drop off spot, there are participating breweries around the Twin Cities that are accepting donations through Nov. 26.
